What can you do to help giraffes? There are so many ways! Check out the stories below of kids who have found inspiring ways to spread the word about the importance of giraffe conservation.

  • Assunta

    Assunta wrote a letter to her principal to tell her about World Giraffe Day (June 21st) . She asked that it be celebrated at her school by having a dress down day to raise money for giraffe conservation! Click HERE to read her letter!

  • Rebecca & Rachel

    Rebecca and Rachel built a 16-foot tall giraffe with their dad to create awareness about giraffe conservation as well as raise money for the African Wildlife Foundation’s Classroom Africa project!   • Clare

    Clare created her own weekly neighbourhood newsletter called Safari Sunset that she initially made by hand to raise money for giraffes. She asked for a donation of $1 per newsletter. After Covid hit, she took it online and turned it into a monthly newsletter. She met her goal of raising $1,000 for giraffe conservation on June 21st (2021) - World Giraffe Day.

  • Kait

    Kait decided she wanted to help giraffes by going to school to become a giraffologist. She is currently finishing up her studies at a university in West Virginia (USA) and has aspirations to do fieldwork in South Africa.
