Keep reading for Assunta’s letter to her principal!

Dear Mrs. P,

I would like to talk to you about an idea I have, I have been spending lots of time thinking about this and it makes me very happy! I hope this idea makes you happy too. I am part of the world’s first-ever Junior Giraffe Club ran by the world’s first Giraffologist. She is also a woman and a Canadian. Her name is Dr. Anne Innis Dagg, She is an inspiration to me and many others. Dr.Dagg teaches many people about giraffes and, their habitats and, she is a protector above all things! She wants to save these majestic creatures from extinction and, bring awareness to this wonderful cause. I have loved learning from her and being part of this wonderful team.

Mrs.P, I kept thinking of ways to make the world and Transfiguration a better palace. Just like Dr.Dagg so, one day after junior giraffe club I had an idea. Mrs.P, I would like to ask you, Do you know what June 21st is? You don’t, ok I’ll tell you it’s WORLD GIRAFFE DAY. Do you know why it’s June 21st? It’s because June 21st is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere! World giraffe day is on June 21st because a giraffe is the longest Mammal in the world just like June 21st is the longest day of the year!

Mrs.P, I would like to ask you, if we can make June 21 a dress- down day. I would like to ask the students of Transfiguration for a $2.00 donation to put towards the Junior Giraffe Club foundation. These funds would be put towards paying for educational materials in the rural areas of Tanzania and Kenya. I understand this is a big ask, and that this might not be possible to do. I would like to thank you for your consideration, especially now that you have so much to worry about, keeping all of us safe from the coronavirus. Mrs.P, please let me know your thoughts.
